Kevin Noble was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.
In 1975 he graduated from SUNY Buffalo State College. That same year he became active with Hallwalls Gallery and then in 1977 with CEPA Gallery in Buffalo. Both non-profit artist-run galleries. He served as director of CEPA in 1977-78.
During this time he also attended the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester NY where he received an MFA in Photographic Studies in 1978. In 1980 he moved to New York City and began photographing performances and concerts at The Kitchen, pursuing his own work which included painting, video and photography.He is the founder and a member of the Culture & Conflict Group, a collective of artists who have organized a number of exhibitions around this country and in Ireland on the role of culture in conflict situations. His work has been shown in New York City at Artists’ Space, The Kitchen, White Columns and Exit Art. He is still a member of CEPA and Hallwalls Gallery. Kevin lives and has a studio in Brooklyn, NY. He also has a cabin in the Catskill Mountains where he fly fishes for trout.
